Online Roulette Odds

Online roulette is a game that gives players a lot of options when it comes to bets. Divided into inside and outside bets, and combined with the unique rules of the variant of the game that the player has chosen to play, it’s important to know your online roulette odds before the reel starts spinning. Keep on reading to find out more.

American vs. European Odds and Probabilities

Although the American and European versions of the game may appear to be comparable at first, they really employ separate roulette wheels. The European wheel only contains a single zero, while the American wheel has both a zero (0) and a double zero (00).

For players, this truly makes a significant difference. Due to fewer pockets on the wheel for the ball to land in, European roulette odds are significantly better for gamblers. The odds and house edge are lower in European roulette since both games give the same roulette payouts.

Additional regulations are included in some European roulette games, substantially reducing the house edge for the player. When a casino offers la partage, (most commonly in French Roulette) it means that if the ball lands on zero, you will only lose half of an even money wager (such as an odd/even or red/black wager).

A variant of the la partage rule is ‘en prison.’ Half of your wager will not be returned to you; rather, it will be "placed in prison" then you can get everything back if that wager wins on the subsequent spin. In either scenario, these choices provide the best roulette odds because they roughly decrease the house advantage in half.

Online Roulette Odds According to Types of Bet

While there are many other types of roulette bets available, they may primarily be split into two categories: inside bets and outside bets. These categories were given their names based on where these wagers appear on the roulette table layout. While outside bets have designated betting zones on the outside of the board, inside bets are placed on the numbers in the centre of the table.

Inside Bet Odds

The largest roulette rewards are available on inside bets, because of their reduced winning chances. On any given spin without having to put much money at risk with each bet, they are sometimes the greatest method to start playing for individuals who are new to the game.

Straight: A wager made on just one number. The wager pays 35-1 if the ball lands on that number.

Split: On the roulette wheel, a split bet is one made on two neighbouring numbers. The wager pays 17-1 if either of those numbers comes up.

Corner: A wager on the roulette betting grid's "square" of four numbers. The wager pays 8-1 if one of these numbers is the winner.

Six Line: A wager that covers two successive rows and a total of six numbers. You have a 5-1 chance of winning if the ball lands on any of those numbers.

First Four: This wager covers the zero, along with numbers 1, 2, and 3, and is only available on European roulette tables. The wager pays 8-1 if one of those four numbers triumphs.

Trio: This wager contains one of the zeros but covers three numbers, similar to a street bet. A player could, for instance, place a trio bet covering 0, 1, and 2. The wager pays 11-1 if any of those numbers is successful.

Top Line: The zero, double zero, 1, 2, and 3 are all covered by this wager, which is exclusively available on American roulette tables. Your wager will be paid out at 6-1 odds if the ball lands on any of those numbers.

Outside Bet Odds

Large areas of the wheel are covered by outside bets, increasing your chance of winning.

They may also have greater minimum bet requirements than inside bets and smaller payouts.

Columns: Each of the three columns on the roulette table layout, which each include 12 numbers, is covered by a column bet. Your wager pays 2-1 odds if any of the 12 numbers wins.

Dozens: These wagers cover sets of 1–12, 13–24, or 25–36 consecutive numbers. The wager pays off 2-1 if one of the numbers in the range you chose wins.

Odd/Even: These wagers cover all of the even and odd numbers on the board (note that zeros do not count as either odd or even). Your wager will be paid out at even money if the winning number is a match.

Red/Black: These wagers cover all 18 of that colour's pockets. You win with an even money chance if the ball lands on that colour.

High/Low: These bets span the ranges of 1-18 and 19-3. The wager pays out even money if the ball lands on a number within the range you've specified.
