I wish I could say I was surprised by the latest attention-seeking move by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but I’m not.
It’s been revealed that the pair have attempted to reclaim their ‘Sussex’ title and crest by launching a brand new website, simplay called ‘Sussex.com’ - something that will no doubt upset the royal family.
The timing is careless, much like Harry and Meghan’s attitude towards this great family. The last thing the royals need right now is this pair yapping away and trying to reclaim some of the attention onto them.
By referring themselves to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, it suggests that they are a part of the royal family, when that could not be much further from the truth at all.
Commercial Aims
The website clearly sets out to further their commercial and personal aims, so the use of the titles and crests is as graceless as the behaviour we have grown to expect from these two.
This must mean that Netflix could be seeing some sense and get twitchy about their mega-millions deal and possibly follow Spotify in deciding to ditch these self-made moaners.
It seems that the page has a news section that follows their every movements and shares their latest sycophantic activities. There’s a bit of charity news there, which is nice, but you won’t be surprised to learn that one of the first news items is that Meghan has signed a deal with another podcast - like we needed to hear more from them.
Ultimately, Harry is still, loosely, a part of a very valued and loved family in this country. I’m sure every family has their ‘Harry’. So I do wish him all the best. I just rather hope though he and his family find happiness within themselves, rather than plastering it in our faces and forever riding the coattails of the institution they clearly dislike so much.
