Louis Saha believes Manchester United should “go all out” for Tottenham star Harry Kane, suggesting he and Cristiano Ronaldo would restore the Red Devils to their former glory. The England striker attempted to force a move through to United’s rivals Manchester City last summer, but was ultimately forced to stay put – and Citizens’ boss Pep Guardiola has instead added Erling Haaland to his ranks.
Despite United’s lack of Champions League football next season, Saha believes they remain an attractive destination for top players and could lure Kane away from North London. “I’m scared that Man City are going to be stepping up even more and become even more hard to catch as they now have Haaland, a player who allows them to play long balls and counter-attacking football.
“If Man United or even Liverpool need to catch up, you need those additions and Kane guarantees 25 to 30 goals a season and I’m sure it’ll be a nice partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo.
“You can see [Kane is] enjoying his time at Spurs. His partnership with [Heung-min] Son is unbelievable.
“They can achieve a lot of things and they have a great manager but United still remains a very attractive destination – even if they aren’t in the Champions League.”
Son In Salah League
Saha also compared Tottenham forward Son to Liverpool’s own lethal frontman Mohamed Salah – suggesting the South Korean is not far behind the Egyptian and could perform in any team, regardless of the system.
“Jurgen Klopp has provided an unbelievable platform for Salah and [Sadio] Mane to perform,” he added.
“Son is seriously underrated as he plays every game with the same intensity and with a smile on his face.
“You can see he wants to improve and make his team-mates better. If I had to pick Salah or Son, if you had a Klopp system I’d say Salah, but any system I’d say Son.”
