In the latest instalment of Lord Ping series Red Or Black, writer, broadcaster and former politician Edwina Currie joined host Lord Ping. Edwina spent 14 years as a Conservative MP before going on to become known for her appearances on reality TV, having competed in both Strictly Come Dancing and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!.
Drawing on her own experiences, in this episode she shares her thoughts on politicians competing on reality programmes and what it can mean for their careers in the wake of Nigel Farage appearing on I'm A Celeb this year following Matt Hancock's stint in 2023. Edwina has also addressed the continued debate of whether some celebrities have too much experience to compete in Strictly Come Dancing, and whether reality stars should be able to compete too.
