Loving The Cold Snap

The United Kingdom is currently embracing the cold as temperatures everywhere have plummeted. Streets are dark, homes are being heated, and ice is building up on our fields and roads.

After a mild New Years period, winter really has come for the UK and it’s become a true winter wonderland. Amber alert warnings have been issued in parts of northern England and Scotland, and temperatures well-below freezing have become the norm.

LORD PING: FOR OPINIONATED PLAYERS

Cause Of The Snap

The chilly weather has been caused by international jet streams. Cold air from the Atlantic Ocean has arrived on our shores, and its low pressure is the reason behind the sudden drop. For some, the snowy conditions are a welcomed change from the emphatic rain that battered the nation in early January.

Parts of Wales and Northern Ireland have seen plenty of snow, too, as 2023 gets off to a frosty start. It’s hard to believe that only 5 months ago, the UK was basking in the summer heat.

Though some people are worried that the decreasing temperatures will cost them more money in heating bills, I have to question their budgeting skills and overall spending priorities. Most people are happy to sit on picket lines and complain about their pay, only to drop their meagre salaries on overpriced avocado toast brunches and pretentious coffees.

Loving The Cold Snap

I, for one, love the cold weather as it’s become something of a throwback in this country. The River Thames used to freeze over in days gone by, and charming markets would be held on it as the peasants sold their goods. Whilst there’s no frozen river for the peasants today, it is rather cute to see them huddled up in their tiny homes.

I also love the idea of the public being holed-up and not leaving their bedrooms after 7pm. If there’s one benefit to cold weather, it’s that it helps keep the lesser-off from going out and causing mayhem behind a veil of darkness. I can only thank Mother Nature for delivering a succession of bitterly-cold nights to help keep Britain safe from trouble.

The cold snap will not last forever, but I am loving every minute of it. Britain looks its best under pillows of bright white snow, and I sincerely hope that it stays around for as long as possible. Not only does it look great, but it also helps the elite from the shenanigans of Britain’s lower class.
