Prince Harry’s latest round of cringe-inducing behaviour took place this week with an interview on US television. Needless to say, I was furious with his comments about our beloved Queen and demonstrated my anger with my most potent, and favourite, weapon - a prolonged and deliberate head shake.
The former Duke of Sussex, 37, revealed that The Queen was on ‘’great form’’ after their recent visit and that he often checks up on the elderly monarch to make sure she has ‘’the right people around her.’’ He summed up his patronising comments by concluding that he makes an effort to make sure she’s ‘’protected.’’ Protected from what, Harry? You live thousands of miles away.

Queen Does Not Need Shielding By Harry
What Harry fails to understand is that our great Queen does not need shielding and is more than capable of handling things on her own. She has almost 70 years of leading this wonderful nation and, therefore, does not need the insights and efforts of her controversial and disinterested grandson.
However, it wasn’t just Harry’s comments on Her Majesty that caused me to grit my teeth and clench my fists - as his admission that he considers the United States ‘’home’’ drove me to near-uncontrollable rage.
Turned His Back On The Royals
It’s a disgrace that, after being brought up in an institution as iconic as the Royal Family, Harry is so content to move across the pond and leave Britain behind.
Dazzled by the bright lights of Hollywood, he has flocked across the Atlantic like a moth to a flame without a shred of dignity or regard for his family. He has turned his back on the very people who made him and deeply upset legions of patriots, leaving their broken hearts in his wake.
My Sympathies Are With The Queen
One can only have the deepest sympathies for the Royals after two years of Covid disruption and internal scandals. They are also still reeling from the untimely loss of the Duke of Edinburgh - whose memorial services took place last month without Harry or Meghan in attendance. How, again, could Harry be a ‘’protector’’ to The Queen? I’m not sure whether to laugh or cry at his ridiculous comments.
The Queen may be elderly, but she is many years off needing supervision. If you saw her recent interview about her COVID-19 battle, you’ll know that Her Majesty is still as razor-sharp as ever.
Even if she needed substantial care, she’d find solace in the embracing arms of her son Charles and other grandson, the outstanding William. A man whose poise and deep respect from the Crown make him the polar opposite of Harry.
It’s a shame such a rift has appeared between the two brothers. I would happily spend the rest of my days on this planet under Harry’s rule, but I feel a Cromwell-esque British divide would break out should Harry ever backtrack and decide he wants the throne.
Start Behaving Like A Royal
The only thing I agreed with Harry on during his interview was his praise and recognition of The Queen’s sense of humour. I’ve never met Her Majesty, but I can imagine she’s an absolute riot to listen to as possess the type of other-worldly charisma that only a British Monarch could have.
Prince Harry should take a leaf out of his brother’s book and learn how to conduct himself like a Royal. He is not, and will never be, The Queen’s confidant and should stop over-inflating his role in her life immediately. I would say he needs to take a look in the mirror, but all this would do is fuel his immense vanity even more.
